About this session
Pacific nations steward 28 million square kilometres of ocean and have set the vision for its future through the 2050 Strategy for the Blue Pacific Continent, UBPP, PRF, and POWA. Asks a defining question: which ocean finance and insurance instruments are fit-for-purpose for the Pacific? Speakers will first showcase proven models of success in MPA finance and regenerative and sustainable blue economy finance, then turn to Palau as a case study of how countries can drive selection of the best-fit instrument mix. Join us to explore how this approach could scale across the Pacific and shape the global ocean finance architecture ahead of COP31.
