About the stakeholder program

Hosted in the Pacific

Fiji and Australia are hosting the Pre-COP31 Stakeholder Program, a four-day program of public sessions, workshops and conversations held alongside the Pre-COP31 meeting.

Vale ni Vanua is a space where traditional and community knowledge come together with science and policy to support meaningful conversations and shared ideas.

In Fijian culture, vanua means more than land. It brings together people, place, community and tradition. Vale means house, a place where people come together.

Registration and the full program are managed through this platform.

When and where is the Pre-COP Stakeholder Program?

The Pre-COP Stakeholder Program runs from 5 – 8 October 2026 and is hosted in Nadi, Fiji (UTC +12). The Stakeholder Program is held at two venues, the Sofitel and Crowne Plaza. The Program runs alongside the formal Pre-COP program, a two-day event on Wednesday 7 and Thursday 8 October.

What is included in the Pre-COP Stakeholder Program?

Registration provides access to a diverse program of sessions, topics and discussions. Opportunities for networking, engagement and interaction are on offer in the Bula Village and public areas of the venues. The venues have food and beverage available for purchase.

Who can attend the Pre-COP Stakeholder Program?

Registration to participate in the Stakeholder Program is open to all. The program brings together a broad cross-section of stakeholders including community leaders, Government officials, academics, scientists, entrepreneurs, start-ups, climate advocates, civil society representatives, youth, First Nations leaders and climate professionals.
